Founded 12 years ago in the heart of Sri Lanka’s Coconut Triangle, our journey began as a small-scale coconut oil factory driven by passion, integrity, and a commitment to quality. Then we evolved into a private limited company as Thennakoon Oil Mills (Pvt)Ltd and have since grown to become the leading producer and marketer of coconut and allied products in Sri Lanka.
Today, we operate from a state-of-the-art facility equipped to produce a wide range of premium coconut-based products. Our dedication to excellence has earned the trust of health-conscious consumers both locally and internationally, thanks to our adherence to globally recognized quality and safety standards including BRC, HACCP, ISO 22000, USDA Organic, EU Organic, and Kosher certifications.
In 2023, we achieved a significant milestone by entering the global market. With our new international brand identity MateCeylon, we are now proudly exporting our premium, organic coconut products to Europe, the USA, Australia, and the Middle East.
MateCeylon embodies our vision to deliver value-added, organic coconut products that reflect the essence of Sri Lanka’s tropical purity. We’ve also taken key steps to register our brand and logo overseas and are actively participating in international trade fairs and exhibitions in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board.

Our Qulity
Our oil mill was founded in 2012 as a small scale coconut oil production company. Initially the production was limited and used basic technologies by a few employees.
With the increasing demand in local market, we were compelled to expand our production. it resulting to state of the art manufacturing factory in Weralugama Estate. Currently we possess 10 production sections and over 200 in house employees & also more than 1000 Indirect employements.
Now, we are expanding to international markets and newly recruited more than 50 employees including Managers, Executives, Office Staff & production Staff.
